Wendy Hansen - COO / Title Examiner
Since March 2001, Wendy has assisted in the growth of Community Title into a successful locally owned and operated full service Title Company. Wendy has 25 years of Residential and Commercial real estate experience. Community Title and Wendy have a strong presence in the community being involved in many local organizations including the Wisconsin Land Title Association, Madison Area Builders Association, Realtors Association of South Central Wisconsin, and Women’s Realtor Council–Madison Chapter. Wendy is an Ambassador for the Fitchburg Chamber of Commerce as well as the newly elected Vice President for the Habitat for Humanity of Dane County Board of Directors. Her personal interests include spending time with her husband Steve, their family including their furry family Comet and Maui, traveling, golfing, and reading. As Chief Operations Officer and Title Underwriter, she oversees the strategic direction, operations, and cultivation of all aspects of the Title Agency.
Julie Johnson - Closing
Julie is a veteran at Community Title having been here for 8 years. She brings 23 years of experience in banking and finance to the closing table. Julie earned a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and French from UW Platteville. Outside of work, Julie is active in the Fitchburg Optimist Club, is on the Turner Hall board, directs the William Tell play, and she and her husband Dale both enjoy singing in the choir. As the Closing Supervisor, Julie is busy, busy, busy not only with closings but also with all the preparation that goes into helping you with the purchase, sale, or refinance of your home. Her expertise and attention to detail makes her one important member of Community Title’s customer focused team!
Patti Nesthus - Closing
Splitting her time between the closing room and the title department, Patti has been a part of Community Title for 5 years. Prior to joining the Community Title team, Patti attended MATC in the Real Estate Associate Degree program and was a Real Estate Agent in Southwest Wisconsin until 2004. In her spare time she enjoys gardening, traveling, camping, and spending time outdoors with her family. Patti’s experience with entrepreneurship brings valuable knowledge and skills to our title business. Always with a smile on her face, Patti will provide you with the information you’re looking for!
Jenny Esser - Administration
Jenny started at Community Title just over 1 year ago. Though her background is not in the title industry, she brings strong personal, communication, and organizational skills to the team. She has a Bachelors degree in Marketing and a Masters degree in Human Resource Management. Jenny spends some of her free time volunteering at Angel’s Wish which is a pet adoption center in Verona. She also enjoys watching sporting events, golfing with her husband Dustin, and hanging with friends on the weekend. At Community Title Jenny is the friendly smile that greets you when you walk in the front door or when you call the office. We keep her busy processing all the title orders and taking care of many of the daily administrative duties. She’s always willing to help, so just ask!
Kim Coleman - Construction / Final Policies
This is Kim’s 7th year with Community Title. Her 14+ years in the title industry has made her quite knowledgeable in many areas of the title business. She earned a certificate in data entry/office assisting through SWTC which helped her get her foot in the door in this business. Kim is heavily involved in her son Hayden’s school and sports activities and enjoys playing with him outdoors. Even as a busy mom and wife, Kim still finds time to try out new recipes and curl up and enjoy a good book. At Community Title Kim is the Construction Coordinator as well as the Co-Final Title Policy Coordinator. If you’re looking for an answer, Kim will either know it or know where to look to find it!
Sean Terry - Title Research / Title Examiner
The lone-male in our office is Sean. He has been with Community Title for 3 years and has an astonishing 15+ years of experience in the title industry. After completing two years of college at the University of Wisconsin La Crosse he found his niche in research and has been working his way up the ranks in this business. Sean is on his way to completing the Title Examiner program this Spring. As an avid sports fan, he enjoys watching events on television, attending games in person, and participates in MSCR basketball league in his spare time. Born and raised in Madison, Sean brings great knowledge and history to the team. Whether he’s in the office or at the courthouse, he’s our go-to guy when it comes to searching!
Karen Carpenter - Final Policies
Another member of the Community Title family that has been around since the beginning is Karen. Before spending the last 8 years at Community Title she worked for the phone company for 20 years. With this combination of experience she has developed excellent customer service and communication skills that she shares with the Community Title customers. Karen and her husband Denny enjoy bike riding, dining out, and spending time with their children and grandchildren. Her two kitties keep her on her toes at home. She keeps busy behind the scenes here at Community Title as the Co-Final Title Policy Coordinator. Karen is always the first to step up and help in the other departments as well as with answering the phone and other administrative tasks!
